[edit] Installing

Installation of XM Tuner is very straightforward. You will need administrative provildeges on your machine and then run the latest InstallXMTunnerxxx.msi.

[edit] Basic Setup

Once installed, run the XMTuner application.

At the bottom of the GUI there are three bottons, "Start" Stop" "Configure" Your will need to select "Configure" and enter your login information for your XM or Sirus account. You can leave the defaults and hit Save Configuration.

Now select "Start". The application will now connect and start.

Go to the "Channels" tab to see the different stations. ( note version 0.6.3 displays an older station list) Select any station to confirm the application is working.

[edit] Testing

The simplest way to test the application is by selecting any station in the GUI.

Example XM 8 - 80S on 8. The player will now play this channel.

You can also copy the URL from the URL Builder bellow and launch in your browser.

Lastly look at the log file from the log tab, it will look similar this this:

XMTuner 0.6.3 19:20:05 Configuration Loaded

19:20:10 Please wait... logging in 19:20:10 Logging into XM Radio Online 19:20:10 Logged in as xxx@xxx.xxx 19:20:10 Loading channel lineup... 19:20:10 Channel lineup loaded successfully (from cache). 19:20:10 Loading extended channel data... (from cache) 19:20:10 Extended channel data loaded successfully (from cache) 19:20:16 Starting server... 19:20:16 Server started 19:20:16 Listening on port 19081 19:20:16 XMTuner Ready...

The above is a normal startup

In Version 0.6.3 you will get the following errors: ( this is a known issue) 19:20:16 Loading extended channel data... 19:20:16 Loading program guide... 19:20:16 Extended channel data is loaded and current, no update needed. 19:20:16 Error: 404 - Not Found 19:20:16 Failed to load program guide data (will retry).

The application is making the following HTTP call: http://www.xmradio.com/epg.program_schedules.xmc?channelNums=2%2c ... 2c226%2c&endDate=30012012205320&startDate=29012012205320

And getting an error form the XM server

Error 404--Not Found From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1: 10.4.5 404 Not Found

Again, this is a known issue.
