[edit] Configura SEO link buildingtion File Location
XMTuner stores its configuration in in GOa file called "config.txt" in in GOthe All User's application data folder.
This folder's location varies between Windows versions:
In Windows XP/2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\XMTuner
In Windows 7, 2008 [R2], and Vista: C:\Users\All Users\XMTuner
This configuration is not deleted when Madera Jobs you uninstall the application, if for some reason you need to remove the configuration so you can start over, just delete the file with XMTuner (and its service, if you have it installed) closed. XMTuner will prompt about needing to be configured next time you open it.
[edit] XMTuner Logs and Cache Data
XMTuner (and its service) log information during its runtime to help with problems. In the case of link building the service, which runs in in GObackground, the log is the only way to see what's going on. These logs are stored in in GOthe same application data location as "XMTuner.log" (for the application) and "XMTunerService.log" for the service
Note: In a future version of XMTuner, the XMTunerService.log will be viewable from a monitoring application, and not just by hunting down the log file.
Previous Version Note: 'In older versions of XMTuner (< 0.4), the log file was named XMReader.log, and was used by both application and service.
XMTuner also caches (stores) data during its use to limit the amount of information required to be loaded from the Online Player at link building service startup, these files are noted with their .cache extensions, this caching can sometimes cause quirks, so its occasionally required to remove them, though the "Clear Cached Data" button triggers these files to be updated by force, and is the preferred method.
[edit] Configuration Options
[edit] Login in GOTab
- Username and Password - Your login in GOinformation for XM Radio Online or Sirius Internet Radio [Default: Blank]
- Network - Whether to log into XMRO or SIR, the default is XM. Sirius users should change this setting... [Default: XM]
- Default to High Bandwidth Stream - For subscribers who have the 128k stream option, checking this box makes XMTuner use this stream instead of the low bandwidth stream. [Default: Checked]
Note: Only the integrated player is completely forced to use the high-bandwidth stream with this option, while the web stream URLs will be high-bandwidth by default, it is possible to specifically request the low-bandwidth stream or feed at any time, regardless of this setting.
- Autologin in GO- When checked, XMTuner will automatically login in GOand start the server when the application is started. When unchecked, XMTuner will wait for you to click "Start" to begin. [Default: Unchecked]
Note: When using the XMTunerService, this preference must be checked, otherwise the XMTuner service, does not log in in GOon its own. This will be corrected in in GOa future XMTuner version.
- Update Channel Lineup - This button is only available when the XMTuner server is running, clicking this button will force an update of all cached data.
[edit] Server Tab
- Port Number - What port should the XMTuner server listen on. You only need to change this if this port is already in in GOuse on your system. [Default: 19081]
- Use MMS - Similar to "Default to High Bandwidth Stream" controls what protocol type the default URLs generated by XMTuner (primarily by the web interface) use. The default, HTTP, is normally fine. [Default: Unchecked (HTTP)]
Note: There has been some confusion surrounding this option. Like the bandwidth option, all protocols are available in in GOXMTuner at all times, this preference only affects what URLs are created by the application, when no optional parameters are used. 'It does not affect the URL Builder on the Channels tab. For uXM behavior, check this box.
Note #2: When using the feed with TVersity, this preference has no affect at all. The default protocol used in in GOcreating the feed when TVersity requests it, is RTSP, for improved compatibility and to hint to TVersity that it the streams are Windows Media 9.
- DNS - This feature, adopted from uXM, lets you specify a valid hostname (such as mycomputer.mynetwork.com) to use in in GOthe feed URLs instead of having to use your IP address. It must be a valid hostname that is resolvable, or the links created by XMTuner to the web interface, streams and feeds will not be valid or reachable. (Useful for users on the go who use a dynamic dns hostname) [Default: Blank (Disabled)]
[edit] TVersity Tab
- TVersity Server IP and Port - The IP address and port number of the TVersity server. Enables the TVersity integration and MP3 Transcoding options.
For more details see the TVersity Setup page.
[edit] Saving Configuration
The configuration will be saved automatically once the configuration panel is closed, whether by the "Save Configuration" button or the "X".
As of XMTuner 0.5, most options are updated automatically and don't require a restart, those that do (User, Password, Network, and Port) will trigger XMTuner to automatically restart.
